"Politeia", 2015

 

In der von Kirsten Kötter kuratierten Ausstellung „Kunst politisch machen“ zeigt Paul Hirsch eine skulpturale Installation. Die Skulptur besteht aus Metallstäben, die aufgrund der Erhitzung ihre Fähigkeit zum Verschweißen verloren haben, sowie Plastikelementen, die gebrochene Verbindungen in Notsituationen temporär wieder zusammenfügen. Die Referenz auf Platos idealen Staat ist nicht als Ironie anzusehen, sondern als die adäquate Möglichkeit für unsere individualistische Gesellschaft.

 

In the exhibition „make art political“, curated by Kirsten Kötter, a sculptural installation is presented by Paul Hirsch. The sculpture is loosely composed on the one hand of metal bars which lost their genuine ability to be tight together in a welding process and on the other hand plastic elements used to fix broken connections temporary. The reference to Plato`s ideal state is not ironical but seems to be the only possibility in our individualistic society.
